For those who don’t know, I’m very active in a statewide organization called Florida Citizens for Science. I was a founding board member when the group formed in 2005 and I’ve consistently been a board member, communications director and recently the treasurer. My participation there is what sparked the idea for Going Ape.

I recently posted at the FCS blog a few notes about statewide science assessment results and whether anything is going to be done about the stagnant and disappointing results over the past few years. You’re welcome to keep tabs on my activities there as I bounce back and forth between missives about Going Ape here and about science education in general there.

I also post quite a bit to the FCS Facebook page. I like to highlight as much as possible about Florida specific science and education news there.
